PROVIDENCE, RI — Twelve people were displaced by a two-alarm Providence fire early Wednesday morning, multiple outlets report. At around 6:30 a.m., firefighters were called to a triple-decker on Douglas Avenue near Virginia Lane (near Providence College), where smoke and flames were seen billowing out of the third floor and the roof, according to WPRI. The fire extended to the siding of neighboring homes as well, ABC6 reports. The flames were put out, but all three floors are now uninhabitable, Providence Deputy Assistant Chief Stephen Houle told WPRI. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
