Description

I'm an older guitarist who's played Solo Archtop Jazz 'n' Blues, as well as having been in full bands both in the FrontRange, and back in Chicago. Well, now I'd like to find a 'melodic' BASSIST, and a non-Slamming DRUMMER ). I'm currently right in between Grant Green and Jeff Beck - a 'street' Jazz sensibility with a peppering of controlled overdrive. I'm looking at working on some little-known covers - "Baltimore Oriole"; and some Blues-based compositions of my own. 'Blues', in both the Miles Davis sense, as well as Jimmy Johnson et al. I've got a home for sessions; and I'm willing to pay for Studio time ( a bit down the road... ? ). This is an old-school situation where we walk through forms and tunes to get them where they should be. For Thought: "BALTIMORE ORIOLE" The Cryan' Shames https://youtu.be/aS_dbpiS-L0 I've eliminated the 'Strings' intro; Once the song gets going, I really like the tempo, and the feel. And, it opens itself for some extended instrumentals "TAKE FIVE" The Dave Brubeck Q'tet https://youtu.be/ryA6eHZNnXY This is a sweet, simple Groove in 5/4; and easy for each Player to 'step out' "Born In Chicago" Paul Butterfield Blues Band https://youtu.be/kCjFRNWN3o4 I've inverted the Beat on this, 'still in 4/4, but emphasis on 1 & 3 rather than on a heavy '4. I wanted to keep the Feel of P.B.'s intent; 'just a tiny change "Talkin 'Bout You" The Rolling Stones https://youtu.be/LK5JOccc6Fk Doing this pretty-much like The 'Stones, on December's Children
