POTTSTOWN, PA — Pottstown's Rupert Elementary I'MPACT team visited the homes of students recently to congratulate them on their success in school. The team headed out to visit students from each grade level and recognize them and their families for work done well in the first Marking period in Pottstown School District. I'MPACT is an acronym for I'm Pottstown Action Community Team. Its mission is to celebrate learning with positive communication about activities happening at school and to do that by building relationships with community members. The team made door-to-door visits to surprise students and their families with certificates of achievement, yard signs, and I'MPACT Winner shirts. Students are congratulated for their hard work, citizenship, and positive behavior. The I'MPACT Team consists of teachers, support staff, parents, and administrators from Rupert Elementary School. Rupert's principal Matthew Moyer recently received national recognition as a Distinguished Principal. Read that Patch story here. Moyer told Patch today, "Visiting our students at home to thank them for their good work in school is one of the best activities we do each marking period! It only takes about an hour, and the joy it brings is amazing! I am thankful we have such a dedicated team at Rupert who are willing to volunteer their time to recognize our children!" I'MPACT Winners for the First Marking Period are: Pre-K/ Kindergarten: Marialuisa Ramos Garcia First Grade: Jefford Guerrier Second Grade: Janiyah Rosenberger Third Grade: Madyson Moye Fourth Grade: Devonte Barnes Members of the Team in attendance for the visits were Principal Matthew Moyer and teachers: Sally Foose, Cheryl Wambold, Lindsay Hogan, Lisa Stephenson, Kerry Kline, Kelsey Hultz, Ashley Bellevou, Stacey Bauman, Lauren Crean, Laurie Gresko, Cindy Bartolucci, Shannon Richey, Katie Coolong, Patty Nazzaro, and Jaime Parris.
