District 308 Offers Open Interview Events For Streamlined Hiring

OSWEGO, IL — If you're looking to apply for a job with Oswego School District 308, the district has a new streamlined hiring process, officials announced Tuesday. People will have several occasions in November to go to open interviews where they'll meet with human resource specialists and leaders at the school district who can connect the job seekers to positions. Open interviews will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Nov. 4, Nov. 9 and Nov. 11 at the District Administrative Center, 4175 Route 71. People should enter through Door 2 at the building. During a visit at the open interview event, people will be able to apply for a position and talk with human resource staff about licenses and requirements. They'll also be able to meet with district or administrative staff for an interview and can even leave with a written contingent offer of employment, officials said in a news release. "We want everyone to know that school districts offer job opportunities across many disciplines," Superintendent John Sparlin said in a statement. "Schools can provide unique opportunities for parents to work the same schedule as their child's school, with holidays and breaks off. Our benefits package is comprehensive and generous, but most importantly working in a school district brings fulfillment, knowing that you are contributing towards the educational success of young people." The district is hiring teaching assistants, substitute teachers, bus monitors and drivers, custodians, recess supervisors and special education teachers, among other open positions. People in these positions typically work 30-40-hour weeks, the release said. To see what jobs at District 308 are open, people interested can visit the district's website. Applicants should bring two forms of identification, contact information for references, a resume and a canceled check for payroll.
