PITTSBURGH, PA — Less than a week after getting superstar center Sidney Crosby back from wrist surgery, the Penguins have lost him again. Crosby has tested positive for the coronavirus, coach Mike Sullivan announced Wednesday. It's unclear how long he will be out of the lineup. Crosby is displaying mild symptoms of the virus, Sullivan said. Crosby played his first game of the season on Oct. 30 against the New Jersey Devils. He registered no goals and no assists. Defenseman Brian Dumoulin also tested positive for the virus, Sullivan said. He is asymptomatic. The NHL's coronavirus protocol will require both players to isolate for 10 days and then have multiple negative tests before returning to team practices and games. The Penguins have five games scheduled in the next 10 days. Be the first to know what's happening in your community and region.
