Chandler Hall, a non-profit, Quaker facility, and Kendal affiliate, provides high-quality care for older adults in Newtown, Bucks County and offers a wide spectrum of services for individuals at all stages of the aging process including Community Living, Personal Care, Residential Hospice, Home Hospice, Independent Living, Respite Care, and Skilled Nursing Care. We are currently seeking a Registered Nurse to provide person centered care to meet the social, physical, recreational, emotional, and spiritual needs of our residents in our Friends Nursing Home. This is a full-time role, working 32 hours a week, Monday through Friday, from 7:00am to 3:00pm, and every other weekend. Hourly rates between $33.00 to $38.00, depending on years of experience, and a $4,000 sign on bonus! The primary purpose of the Registered Nurse position is to function within your scope of practice to administer medications and treatments, follow residents’ plan of care, supervise care staff and plan, execute, and evaluate resident care. You are responsible for working as a team member, for assisting co-workers and managers in the pursuit of service excellence, organizational policies and procedures and thorough knowledge of current long term care nursing practices in accordance with State Department of Health long term care licensure regulations. Job Duties and Responsibilities Demonstrates commitment to Chandler Hall’s Mission, Vision & Kendal Values.Remains compliant with both organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.Responsibility and accountability for resident care, staff, and the environment of care; Ensures thorough and prompt reporting of incidents and events with follow-up as necessary to the DON and/or Administrator.Executes physician orders: accepts, accurately transcribes and carries out physician orders, with demonstrable understanding of the reasons, desired and adverse outcomes. Demonstrates knowledge of resident monitoring related to medications and treatments, addresses concerns to physician, designee, DON for resolution.Administers medications and performs treatments per physician order and within the scoped of practice for Pennsylvania.Collaborates with team members to meet lifestyle choices and satisfaction, assist team members to response conflicts while meeting each residents’ individual needs/choicesAssess residents and analyze obtained information to develop appropriate interventions and care plans; attend and participate in care plans meetings as needed.Confer with residents, families and staff and make referrals to other departments when appropriateMaintain clinical competence with point-of-care monitoring; demonstrates ability to use diagnostic and monitoring equipment to accurately assess and treat resident medical condition.Mentors and functions as a leader for others with orientation and unfamiliar situations, emergencies and maintains professional responsibility for actions of others in a supervisory capacity.Correlate the completion and accuracy of documentation and its impact on reimbursement and federal regulations.In-service staff related to identified needs.Complete job performance counseling and follow-up review for professional and care partner nursing staff.Support the facilities medical supply system; follow procedures for resident care itemsOversee and manages clinical scheduling and labor.Respond to emergencies, assess the condition of resident, decides on type of medical attention. Make judgement calls regarding course of action and the need to contact physician and/or family. Calls appropriate ambulance service if needed, notifies MD and family when a death occurs.Education, Experience and Competencies Current license with the State of Pennsylvania for Registered Nurse. Bachelor’s degree from accredited nursing program. Must maintain current CPR/AED Certification. Strong supervisory skills. Interpersonal and communication skills.
