Description
Tragically the young husband of Park School Principal, Aubrey O'Connor, unexpectedly passed away this summer. Our community feels a calling to make impactful change in the young lives of Aubrey and Aidan O’Connor’s three children. As a gesture of support and gratitude, parents of Park School have established college investment plans for Maizie, Adelaide, and Malachy O’Connor. It seems fitting to match Mrs. O’Connor’s passion and her life’s work, overseeing our children’s education, by contributing to the future of hers. These are straightforward 529 plans at Vanguard and Vanguard has a partnership with Ugift to receive and process all donations online. For those unfamiliar with 529 plans, here is a link from the SEC which provides an overview. For obvious reasons donations must be made to each child. One can not do one lump sum to be divided among the three. This will take a little extra time, but your help in this allotment is appreciated. A few more points to note: To give, simply click on "give a gift" on the Ugift529.com homepage and follow the next few steps. There are three gift codes (one for each child): C7X-G6B, N67-Q03, 57Q-T3B. When one enters the code, he/she will be taken to a page that identifies the student, account owner (Aubrey O), the gift code, and a place where a gift amount can be entered. Ugift securely facilitates direct payment from bank accounts, which maximizes the gift through the reduction of fees. There is a $50 minimum per gift. This amount was set by the 529 plan. There is no maximum. The gifts take a few days to process on both sides of the transaction. Unfortunately one is unable to make a direct donation to these funds via a DAF or personal giving trust. People should consult with their tax advisor before making a gift although there should not be any tax consequences associated with the gift. Thank you so much for your consideration.Sincerely,The Park School Community
