One Dies In Lake Forest Single Car Crash At El Toro & Summerwood

LAKE FOREST, CA — A fatal collision occurred in the city of Lake Forest, near the corner of Summerwood and El Toro Road, Tuesday afternoon, Orange County Sheriff's Department reported. At approximately 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, witnesses saw a Cadillac sedan crash off the roadway and into a tree, and called emergency responders, OCSD spokeswoman Carrie Braun told Patch. One person, believed to be the lone passenger inside the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the crash scene, and medics took the driver to the hospital as a trauma patient, she said. The driver's condition is not currently known as of midday Wednesday. The Sheriff's Major Accident Reconstruction Team responded to investigate exactly what occurred. It is not yet known if the use of alcohol or drugs was involved. All roads reopened at 10 p.m.
