CHICAGO — A Chicago high school was put on lockdown Wednesday afternoon when police said a person called authorities to warn them of a student with a gun.
Police said they responded to Schurz High School for reports of a fight where one person possibly had a weapon. The school is located at 3601 North Milwaukee Avenue in the Old Irving Park neighborhood.
After searching the building, police said the lockdown was lifted at around 12:30 p.m., about 30 minutes after the school began the lockdown.
"The facility was locked down and no weapon was found at this time," police said in a statement.
