WEST ISLIP, NY — A Long Island resident will go on to perform in NBC's The Voice's live finals, after winning her Knockout Round in Monday night's episode. Bella DeNapoli, 22, of West Islip, sang a dynamic rendition of Sia's "Chandelier", competing against fellow teammate Katherine Ann Mohler, 22. While judges Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson sided with Mohler's soulful arrangement of "Poison," by Bell Biv DeVoe, Ariana Grande ultimately chose DeNapoli for her passionate performance. "I had to go with Bella," said Grande. "Her knockout was really gorgeous vocally but also so emotionally vulnerable and moving." John Legend also sided with Grande. "When you're in your quiet part of your voice, you do like these little tight runs," he told DeNapoli. "It's really compelling." DeNapoli was given a second chance to participate in the show last month, after losing against teammate Katie Rae in their Battle Rounds episode. Although Grande chose Rae as the winner, she then used her "save" option to allow DeNapoli to continue in the competition. The Voice judges are allowed to save one contestant during both the Battle Rounds and Knockouts. "I don't think words will ever be able to describe the love i have for you as a human being as well as a coach," said DeNapoli about Grande. " having you as a mentor thus far has changed me for a life time. you inspire me to keep challenging myself as an artist and i can not wait to continue on this journey together!!"
