DEARBORN, MI — Ford Motor Company will require most of its salaried workers to be vaccinated against COVID-19, the company told Patch Wednesday. Most of the company's 32,000 salaried workers will have until Dec. 8 to get the shot or face unpaid leave, the report said. "The health and safety of our workforce remains our top priority and we have been very encouraged by the support of our employees to comply with our protocols, including the more than 84-percent of U.S. salaried employees who are already vaccinated," company spokeswoman Brentley said. "As we continue to put measures in place to protect our team, Ford will now require most U.S. salaried employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by Dec. 8, which also aligns to federal contractor guidelines." Both Ford and General Motors recently required its salaried workers to disclose their vaccination status. The UAW does not support a vaccine mandate, but has encouraged its 400,000 workers to get the shot, the report said.
