The First To Soar Conference On behalf of the North Carolina Central University First Generation Student Advisory Committee, we are excited to welcome your attendance at our inaugural First-Generation Student Conference, taking place Saturday, November 13th, 2021 at the Mary Townes Science Building. Our theme for the inaugural conference is “The First to Soar!” This conference is an opportunity to engage in conversation and discussion about the process for first-generation students attending a Historically Black Institution. North Carolina Central University is here to provide you with a chance to share your experience, hear of others, and learn ways to amplify your college experiences. The First to Soar Conference will focus on the following areas: • Academic Success • Financial Literacy • Life After College • Graduate School Prep • Parenting Sessions We look forward to meeting you at this conference! The NCCU First Generation Student Advisory Committee is collective of campus departments/organizations that champion the academic, personal, and professional success of first-generation college students.
