Join us in deep East Oakland at the waterfront to kayak the Oakland Estuary or the San Leandro Bay. Event location: 4675 Tidewater Ave, Oakland, CA 94601 Dates: Nov 14, 2021 and Nov 20, 2021 Time: 10AM - 12:30PM Learn about the history of the shoreline, identify shoreline habitat and discuss solutions to bridge access to the shoreline. In partnership with the East Bay Regional Park District (EBRPD), this event aims to uncover an unknown area of the MLK Jr. Shoreline and expose East Oakland BIPOC residents from 94603, 94605 or 94621 area codes to kayaking. Located in deep East Oakland, the Tidewater Boating Center features a nice open grass area, public boating ramps and EBRPD resources. All ages welcome (If 18 years old and under the parent/guardian is required to be present, but not participate.) Instructions Five double kayaks are available to accommodate 10 participants per session. Registration is first come first serve.
