Brave Spaces: Strategies for Inclusive Clinical Care Brave Spaces is a resource for individuals interested in disseminating LGBTQIA+ awareness and ally trainings. This program provides individuals with an opportunity to learn about LGBTQIA+ identities, gender, and sexuality, and unlearn prejudice. The basis of Brave Spaces is to directly affect the climate in which LGBTQIA+ individuals engage and to provide an environment in which they feel valued and safe. This course utilizes the framework of Brave Spaces, to provide clinicians with the skills necessary to provide competent care to members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Course content will focus on basic terminology, awareness, and inclusiveness. Participants will engage in simulation and role-play of specific case examples that focus on increasing clinician awareness and bias reduction in working with the LGBTQIA+ community. Lebanon Valley College, Department of Physical Therapy is a PA & NY pre-approved provider of continuing education credits for physical therapists.
