Composting pilot program for City of Stuart Sanitation Customers. Bring your own lunch while you learn about composting!
This composting program is for City of Stuart Sanitation Customers only. Attendees will receive a free tumbler composter. Composting is as easy as 1-2-3!
1. Attend the How-To Workshop & Receive a free composter.
2. Bring your lunch to eat while you learn.
3. Compost your veggie and yard scraps at home.
4. Apply Compost to your lawn and garden
RULES
1. Attendance at a UF IFAS hosted composting workshop is required to obtain a tumbler composter. There is no charge for the workshop or the composter.
2. The pilot program is open only to City of Stuart Sanitation Customers and can accommodate up to 20 participants.
3. Pilot participants agree to track and report the quantity of material they divert from the trash to their backyard composting unit for a three-month period.
4. Data measuring and reporting kit to be supplied by the City.
5. Composting coaching will be available to pilot program participants.
6. Composting tumblers remain the property of the City of Stuart.
7. Participants who relocate or desire to withdraw from the program must notify the City to arrange pickup of the composter.
8. Normal wear and tear on the tumbler is expected, with a life span of 5 years. Replacing a damaged unit is at the discretion of the City.
9. Only one free composter per household, however, multiple individulals from a single household may attend the educational workshop.
