We are an algae farm dedicated to creating innovative food products that support vibrant and vital living. We are looking for an individual to help lead the expansion of our innovative aquaculture farm. A passion for hands-on work and creative problem solving are essential as our farming methods involve new techniques and technology. This position will be responsible for completing all of the construction necessary for the expansion of the farm. Responsibilities would include managing one or more assistants in the construction of new greenhouses, water systems, cooling and heating systems as well as upkeep of our 10 acre farm grounds. This position will work directly with our lead cultivator and executive team on planning and execution. The right candidate is highly self-motivated and has a background in cultivation/landscaping and/or construction. Candidate must live within 45 minutes of the farm (Brentwood, CA 94513) Responsibilities include: Construction lead on all farm construction projects Building as specified from construction plans Rough carpentry Rough plumbing Rough HVAC Grading and dirt moving Management and scheduling of one or more construction assistants Operation and maintenance of farm tractor and other heavy machinery Use and maintain various hand and power tools and equipment Performs general laborer tasks as needed, including loading, unloading, lifting and moving materials Manage team and scheduling of workers, as needed Responsibility for job site cleanliness Report project status to ……. Requirements: High School diploma At least 3 years construction and building experience At least 1 year small team management experience Ability and desire to work outside (rain or shine) and in greenhouses Highly skilled with common power tools (circular saw, table saw, drills, drivers, etc...) Strong drive to do assigned tasks and procedures correctly and on time. Every time. Reliability; work 8-hr. shifts, 5 days a week. Work safely around others and follow safety protocol. Highly Desirable: Experience with aquaculture and aquaculture systems Framing or carpentry Landscaping or gardening experience Interest in sustainable agriculture Compensation $20-$30/hr based on experience with adjustments for performance as our company expands.
