Description
PUYALLUP, WA — Police in Puyallup are looking for a vehicle that rammed a pair of patrol cars early Tuesday morning.
As the Puyallup Police Department explains, its officers were called to the Hamptons Apartments sometime before 8 a.m. Tuesday on reports of a suspicious vehicle.
When they arrived, police say they found the vehicle in question, but when they tried to make contact, the car plowed into two Puyallup Police patrol vehicles and took off. No officers were harmed, but police say the vehicle — a silver Ford Edge — was torn up, incurring significant front end damage.
The vehicle was last seen near the Tacoma Boys market on 39th Avenue. Police claim they were unable to pursue the Ford Edge because, despite driving recklessly, the vehicle did not meet the regulations required by the state to initiate a police chase.
However, they did manage to capture one suspect. During the collision police say a woman fled from the scene on foot. Police ultimately caught up to her near the intersection of 23rd Ave Southeast and 7th St Southeast, where they say she was trying to break into a vehicle. She has since been taken into custody.
The Ford Edge, however, remains on the loose.
