WOODBRIDGE, VA — A Maryland man is accused of calling a woman, telling her to look out her window, and then shooting her car near Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School in Woodbridge on Sunday, according to the Prince William County Police Department. Authorities identified the man as Angel DeJesus Carrillo-Velis. Authorities have been unable to locate Carrillo-Velis. Carrillo-Velis, who is from District Heights, is wanted on several charges. Police responded to a home in the 13200 block of Nickelson Drive in Woodbridge on Sunday morning to investigate a shots fired call. Residents told officers that they heard gunshots before seeing a vehicle flee the area. Authorities arrived on the scene around 6:45 a.m., according to the police report. As officers were investigating, they found an unoccupied car that looked as though it had been shot several times, authorities said. "The owner of the vehicle, a 34-year-old woman, received a phone call from an acquaintance, identified as the accused, who told her to look out the window," the police department wrote in their report. "Upon doing so, the victim observed the accused shoot her parked vehicle before fleeing in a 2011 black Honda Civic bearing Maryland license plates: 5DB0074." No injuries were reported in the shooting, police said. After their investigation, authorities obtained arrest warrants for Carrillo-Velis. He is charged with shooting in a public place, shooting within 1,000 feet of a school, property damage, and reckless handling of a firearm. Carrillo-Velis is a described as a 35-year-old Hispanic man who is about 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs approximately 170 pounds, police said. His listed residence is in the 6500 block of Kipling Pkwy in District Heights, Maryland.
