WOODBRIDGE, NJ — The current Woodbridge Council members — all Democrats and allies of Woodbridge Mayor John McCormac — are leading the race, as per unofficial vote counts. Results remain unofficial until they are certified; it may take a few days to count mail-in ballots. They were challenged by a team of Republicans, who ran on a campaign that Woodbridge is becoming too overdeveloped, too crowded and that McCormac and his allies have been in power long enough. "What the (McCormac administration) is doing is taking people who have been living in a town and flipping them into a city. Tons of traffic, pollution, garbage, overpopulation, culture shock, constant loud noise and dangerous areas," said John Masculin, who ran in the 3rd Ward (Avenel). Be the first to know.
