Updated, Nov. 3, 12:45 a.m. TOMS RIVER, NJ — Republicans appear to have swept all four wards in the races for the Toms River Township Council, which would return the body to fully GOP control after four years with Democrats on the body. With all districts reporting and early votes counted and mail-in ballots received before Tuesday counted, Justin Lamb, Daniel Rodrick, James Quinlisk and David Ciccozzi led in the four ward races. Lamb, Rodrick and Quinlisk all have received more than 69 percent of the vote. In Ward 4, Ciccozzi leads Democrat Terrance Turnbach by more than 1,000 votes. With all 63 districts reporting in the races for two seats representing Toms River on the Toms River Regional Board of Education, incumbents Jennifer Howe and Joseph Nardini were leading the race, with Howe topping all vote-getters with 7,421, according to the unofficial tallies. In the race for the South Toms River seat on the Toms River Regional Board of Education, incumbent Anna Polozzo received 57 percent of the vote, leading Mary Guarin 315-231. The results do not become official until the Ocean County Clerk certifies the election, usually later in November.
