EAST HAVEN, CT —The polls closed in East Haven and voters reelected Democratic Mayor Joseph A. Carfora to a second term by a more than 2 to 1 margin. The unofficial results, including absentee ballots, are Carfora with 4,208 votes and Republican Salvatore Maltese with 1,866 votes. Carfora spoke to Patch after he won the race. "I am honored to gain the confidence of East Haven again. To be asked to lead my hometown is an awesome responsibility and one that I will not take lightly," Carfora said. As of 11 p.m. Tuesday night, the unofficial results had Democrats sweeping the Board of Education and Board of Finance races. Enders, Lynn A. Torello, Thomas Hennessey, James R. Roaix, Jr. and Bildon L. Francis. The choices for Board of Finance are Democrats Richard A. DePalma, Christopher M. Perdo, Alfred Purzycki, and Richard Espositio and Republicans Ralph (Butch) Mannochi, Anthony J. Vigliotti, Ralph J. Vitale, and Beth Purcell. The choices for Town Council are: District 1 Democrats Beth Capotorto, Kimberly Glassman, and Ashley Lesco and Republicans David C. Gerse, Ken McKay, and Bob Parente. Vote for up to three. District 2 Democrats Karen A. Martin, Joe Santino, and Joe Deko and Republicans Luann Scarpellino, Sue Colangelo, and Bob Redente. District 3 Democrats Louis G.
