Press release from the City of Knoxville - Blog: November 1, 2021 Victim Identified from Fatal Catalpa Avenue Shooting (November 1, 2021, 11:15 a.m.) The victim from the fatal shooting that occurred at 4115 Catalpa Avenue on Sunday evening has been identified as J'Michael Dossett, 26 of Georgia. The KPD Violent Crimes Unit is continuing to investigate the circumstances that led to the shooting. At this time, no suspects have been charged in connection to the shooting. Additional information will be provided when it becomes available. ----- At around 6:30 p.m. tonight, October 31, Knoxville Police Department officers responded to a shooting with a victim at a residence in the 4100 block of Catalpa Avenue. Upon arrival at the scene, officers located an adult male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim was transported to the UT Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. KPD Violent Crimes Unit investigators responded to the scene and are currently in the early stages of the investigation. There are no suspects in custody at this time and the circumstances that led to the shooting are still being investigated. Additional information will be provided when it becomes available.
