Press release from the City of Wheaton: November 1, 2021 The City of Wheaton's Environmental Improvement Commission will once again host a "Pumpkin Smash" drop-off for pumpkins. This collection will allow you to drop off pumpkins (please remove decorations first) to be composted, rather than going to the landfill. The event will take place on Saturday, Nov. 6 from 9 a.m. to noon in the commuter parking lot at Liberty and Carlton.  Why Keep Pumpkins Out of the Landfill? Due to COVID-19, all participating residents are required to wear a mask and maintain social distancing at the event. This press release was produced by the City of Wheaton.
