Giant day gecko

Description

I am going to be moving soon and won’t be able to take all of my reptiles with me. I am looking for a new home for my giant day gecko. I believe he is a male, but not going to guarantee that. If you are looking to breed, look elsewhere. He is at least 2 years old. He is a very gorgeous gecko, but he is not a gecko that should be handled. These geckos have the ability to lose their tail and their skin if they get scared. It does grow back, but I don’t want him to deal with that kind of stress in his life. He has eaten food out of my hand before, and he has no issue with me putting my hands in his enclosure to clean, add food, and rearrange. He is fairly easy to take care of. His main diet is Pangea mix foods. You should NOT feed him gecko food from chain pet stores. Majority of those foods are not complete diets. For the mixes I would recommend you stick only to Pangea and Repashy. He will also eat bugs such as crickets and dubia roaches. However, I don’t feed roaches that often because they generally hide very quickly in his enclosure. He also requires UVB and heat. He will come with his dual dome lamp, but you will need to get new bulbs. The UVB bulbs should be replaced every 6 months and that time is about to come up. If he doesn’t find a new home in the next two weeks, I will replace the bulbs myself. You must also spray his enclosure on a daily basis. He needs higher humidity and you can create that by spraying reptile safe water into his enclosure every day or you can invest in a fogger. He does come with a nice enclosure, and I will NOT rehome him without it. It is an 18x18x24 exo terra. These are not cheap cages. They run about $200 from pet stores. His enclosure also has a CUSTOM made background. It makes it look more natural, gives him more hiding spots if he wants it, and even has spots that you can add small plants to. His enclosure does have a drainage layer, screen, and then substrate. There is only one live plant in their currently, and has been in there for about two months now. There are no springtails or isopods in there at this time. He is a very beautiful gecko and has become very comfortable with me. He no longer spends majority of his time hiding. He is now usually very show boaty and can almost always be seen. And unlike most geckos he is awake during the day which I think makes it more enjoyable to have him. He will come with himself of course, his custom enclosure, dual lamp, all decor in enclosure, half a bag of extra drainage layer, and anything else I can find for him. You will need to get your own food. I am asking a rehoming fee of $250, but am willing to negotiate for the right home. Located in Hinesville, pick up only, cash only, no long holds. If you are interested in him you MUST email me telling me why you are interested and what kind of reptile experience you have. If you simply ask if he is still available or something simple like that, I will just delete your email.
