ELMHURST, IL — Elmhurst police responded to a fight at a football game over the weekend, according to a police report. The players were fighting early Saturday evening on the football field at Plunkett Park, 186 S. West Ave., police said. It was learned that one of the players stiff-armed an opponent, which started the fight between the teams, according to the report. Stiff-armed is defined as "tackling or fending off a person by extending an arm rigidly." Officers shut down the game, and the teams left the area, police said. No injuries were reported. Police did not identify the teams.
