Editor's note: This story was updated at 11:03 p.m. DOUGLASVILLE, GA — Votes have been tallied for Douglasville City Council races and a $25 million bond referendum to improve Jessie G. Davis Memorial Park. Will all precincts reporting, unofficial Douglas County results show most Douglasville voters said "yes" to the park bond with 1,507 votes for approval, and 742 votes against it. Unofficial results also show with all precincts reporting, incumbent Terry S. Miller leading the race for the Ward 1 spot on city council with 198 votes, while his opponent William Golden has 78 votes. In Ward 2, Post 1, incumbent Nycole Newborn Miller is leading against her opponent Shay Johnson, with 322 votes and 259 votes, respectively. In Ward 3, Post 1, incumbent LaShun Burr Danley leads with 522 votes, while opponent Marvin A. Davis has 180 votes. Incumbent Sam Davis is also leading the race for Ward 3, Post 2 with 461 votes, while his opponents Charles Lollar and John Rogers have 113 votes and 130 votes, respectively. All results are unofficial until canvassed. Davis Memorial Park. The question was posed as follows: "Shall general obligation debt of the City of Douglasville, Georgia be issued in an aggregate principal amount not to exceed $25,000,000 in order to fund the acquisition, construction and furnishing of additional amenities and recreational facilities at the Jessie G. Davis Memorial Park, and the costs of issuing the debt?" Voters were asked to vote "yes" or "no" on this park bond, and 1,507 voted "yes," while 742 voted "no."
