This year, Dacula voters decided on races for mayor and city council. The Municipal General Election was held to fill the mayoral seat. Mayoral candidate Wade Anthony challenged incumbent Hugh "Trey" King. Two city council members, Daniel R. Spain and Denis W. Haynes Jr., ran unopposed in their bids for re-election.
