Hello, I'm a classical guitarist offering guitar lessons in the Billings/Laurel/Columbus areas. I have a Bachelor of Music in Classical Guitar Performance and have taught since 2014. During college, I taught through the nationwide Childbloom Guitar Program for kids ages 5-12. Currently, I teach ages 5+ and all levels of experience. This is a great option for kids and adults alike! Classical music is an excellent way to enrich your child's learning. It provides mental stimulation, fosters creativity, and improves fine motor skills. I begin teaching kids by ear, so they can start playing guitar right away. As we solidify the basics, we move on to reading music. I do teach strictly classical technique and repertoire, so if you're hoping to learn rock/country/folk guitar etc. you might want to learn more about classical guitar first. Many of today's top rock and pop guitarists got their start playing classical, and it is an excellent way to build a solid foundation for any guitarist. Lessons are $25/30min (recommended for kids and beginners) and $45/hr, paid monthly. I recommend 4 lessons/month. I offer a 10% discount for families with more than one student. You may also need to purchase materials such as music books, footstool, and guitar, which I can recommend if you're interested.
