WOOD SHOP FINISH TECHNICIAN Viridian takes amazing wood and makes it into quality paneling and tables, and it all starts in our 50,000 square foot facility where we roll up our sleeves and make it happen. In this job you will literally be putting the finishing touches on our products, prepping the wood and then applying the finish. You will spend time in our spray booth using a manual hand sprayer, as well as a high-volume lineal UV finishing equipment. Projects vary in size from custom conference room tables to high-volume paneling production, but in all cases quality and quick turnaround are critical. Our Finish Department is a close-knit team that has a lot of fun while they work. This is a great job for someone with past automotive finishing experience who wants to learn more about wood finishing. RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment at all times. Fill, sand, buff, stain and prepare wood for finishing. Apply finish using lineal and hand spray equipment, including setup and cleanup. Mix and apply custom wood tints, stains, and paints. Setup, cleanup and maintenance of UV finish line. Work to reduce waste, lower costs, improve quality and lower delivery times. Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on the equipment you use. At Viridian we are always trying to improve our manufacturing procedures, you must be an active participant in trying new procedures and streamlining/standardizing workflow and process. Have a very keen eye for detail and quality control Show up on time and be able to work Monday-Friday 7am to 3:30pm QUALIFICATIONS Committed to safety, cleanliness, and accuracy. 1+ year automotive or industrial finishing experience is preferred, but we will train for the right candidate. Demonstrate safe use, care, and maintenance for finish equipment and paint booths. Able to consistently follow detailed work instructions and hit exacting specifications for gloss level. Our team is fast-paced and high energy – you need to hit the ground running Able to lift 50lbs unassisted / 100+lbs team assisted and be on your feet for the shift. Comfortable wearing a respirator for significant spans of time. This job is not suitable for those with any form of color blindness / color vision deficiency.
