WOOD SHOP LEAD - WEEKEND WALLS. Viridian takes amazing wood and makes it into quality paneling and tables, and it all starts in our 50,000 square foot facility where we roll up our sleeves and make it happen. In this job you will learn how to craft beautiful rustic peel and stick paneling. You will be responsible for leading a small team and hitting production targets based on consumer demand. If you want to learn more about woodworking in a fun, team-based shop with great equipment, then this is the job for you! RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment at all times. Sand, cut, tape, and pack Weekend Walls paneling for shipment to customers Grade and sort wood to ensure paneling quality. Use overhead sanders, chop saws, table saws, and tape machines to manufacture products. Able to follow a standard, consistent process to ensure all paneling you work on meet Viridian’s detailed dimension and quality specifications. Time spent working with a team as well as time spent working independently (listen to your own headphones!) You will periodically assist in adjacent departments to assist production in Finishing and Shipping. Manage incoming orders and fulfil outbound shipments Manage inventory levels of products Maintain communication with Production Manager in regards to to obstacles QUALIFICATIONS Committed to safety, cleanliness, and accuracy. Quickly learn to grade wood (we will train you but you, but you will need to prove you can learn and move fast). Show you can apply basic math skills, read work orders, and use a tape measure and calipers. Learn to safely use and care for power tools: panel saw, table saw, chop saw, planers, sanders, routers, drills, etc. Able to lift 50lbs unassisted / 100 lbs. team assisted and be on your feet for the shift. Work well in a team environment as well as able to complete tasks and meet goals independently. Experience with power tools is a plus. Experience in a leadership role is a plus.
