Position Summary This position provides the handling, storage, and distribution of materials delivered to and from SCO. Provides the physical material handling activities as well as, the materials management activities of data entry, product identification, safe and efficient storage, traceability, and inventory accuracy. This job is performed with moderate supervision. Decision-Making: 1. Do materials match the ordered requisition and specification? 2. Are materials considered hazardous and/or require special handling? 3. Is the material status properly identified and updated? 4. Is the integrity and quality of the material acceptable? 5. Is the material safely assigned to the proper/correct storage system? Essential Function/Major Responsibilities: 1. Provide material handling support to various areas within Siltronic, including but not limited to: • Receiving. • Warehouse. • Distribution of materials to multiple locations across the entire facility. • Packing and storage of finished products (silicon wafers). • Customer order assembly. • Shipment preparation. • Shipping. 2. Perform a variety of related distribution activities and tasks as assigned. Handle and transport various material types and shapes including chemicals and gases. 3. Operate common material handling equipment to include, but not limited to, hand truck, pallet jack, carts, ladders, tape machine, banding tools, stretch wrap machine, loading dock, and forklift. 4. Operate information system hardware including data entry terminals, PC, scanners, label printers, and laserjet printers. 5. Provide material traceability through accurate labeling and documentation of transactions of material movement. 6. Match and verify material descriptions, specifications, quantities, and characteristics to documents and database information. 7. Utilize storage space efficiently to maximize cube, while maintaining safety and protection to material and the environment. Provide FIFO (first in first out) material rotation. 8. Interact as the initial contact with the supplier, vendor, requestor, and/or carrier, for receipt and distribution of materials, including point of use delivery and staging. 9. Provide signature endorsement of ownership of materials to be accurate and in quality condition. 10. Load and unload products and materials as required, to and from supplier, vendor, and/or carrier vehicles. 11. Perform and report cycle counting of storeroom materials. 12. Participate actively in housekeeping and organization of materials, to maintain safe, clean, neat, and organized area/s. 13. File and distribute documents and records. 14. Communicate activities with team members and internal customers, to optimize the team efficiency and overall productivity. 15. Prioritize workload to best service customers, manage time and improve productivity. (secondary) 16. Provide positive customer service and demonstrate good telephone skills. (secondary) 17. Work overtime as needed or requested. (secondary) 18. Demonstrate problem-solving skills to suggest needed reconciliation or ideas towards continuous improvement. (secondary) Position Requirements: 1. High School diploma or equivalent is required. 2. Material handling experience required. 3. Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills in English with an ability to effectively communicate information to a variety of people. 4. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Demonstrated ability to retain instructions is required. Working knowledge of material handling techniques, inventory control, space utilization, and related materials management skills is desirable however, can be trained. Demonstrated application of this knowledge is required daily. 5. Ability to pass forklift certification through forklift certification program is required. Sustained good driving and safe operation record is mandatory. 6. Demonstrate attention to detail and ability to visually monitor and inspect quality and integrity of material and material packaging. 7. Ability to focus on task accomplishment, with multiple interruptions in an often-chaotic environment of mixed priorities. 8. Desire and ability to work effectively in a customer service environment. 9. Ability to effectively work in a team environment, working alone and with others. 10. Ability to be flexible in work assignments to various work areas and with various team members, often changing tasks. 11. Demonstrated and sustained good job performance in a cross-functional “go to the work” fashion is required. 12. Ability to work inside and outside as needed in a non-climate or noise-controlled environment occasionally as needed. 13. Ability to occasionally handle hazardous material safely. 14. Ability to frequently walk on concrete and asphalt surfaces. 15. Ability to stand or sit, bend, twist, crouch, kneel, climb ladder and stairs occasionally for unspecified lengths of time during assigned shifts. 16. Repetitive use of the arms, wrist, and hands (grasping, squeezing, keyboarding) and the ability to reach above the shoulders is frequently required. 17. Ability to frequently lift and/or carry various material types and shapes weighing up to 50 pounds. 18. Ability to frequently push, pull, or lift various material types and shapes weighing 100 to 3000 pounds or greater, by mechanical means with the use of common material handling equipment. 19. Ability to frequently and repetitively perform a similar work assignment up to durations of approximately two-hour increments. Occasionally, perform the same work assignment throughout the entire scheduled workday. 20. Must be able to pass a drug screen (excluding marijuana) and background check.
