Vaccines are the hard won, medical miracles that have allowed nearly all Americans to spend the last 50 years not watching their family and friends die of the measles, diptheria, menegitis, the mumps, or blood poisoning and lockjaw from tetanus. Almost certainly you or someone you know didn't spend months in an iron lung or strapped into leg braces in a desperate bid to get you walking again after the crushing paralysis you suffered. And not only did you not experience the hell these diseases inflict, you didn't pass on the contagion to others, you brothers, sisters, cousins, neighbors, because you...were...vaccinated.
