Experienced Construction Foreman - $18.00 - $25.00 (Tucson) “WE PAY MORE” JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Open yard daily and be prepared with landscaping functions and sequence of work to be performed at various sites to obtain optimum utilization of labor and equipment for the day and projects in progress. 2. Work hands on and oversee daily operations of landscape construction crew(s). 3. Ensure all output of work is of the highest quality and is performed in a safe environment and in an effective manner. 4. Evaluate employee performance and report to company owner with observations. 5. Ensure work is performed with minimal down time due to lack of direction, excessive conversation and mismatching of employee team members. 6. Prepare and secure signed change orders to ensure timely input and billing. 7. Survey and shoot grades to ensure proper elevations and grade points are met for excavating, grading, mounding, and masonry. 8. Complete projects within specified time frame and within approved budgets using strategic planning and timing. 9. Ensure all timesheets and forms are submitted daily / weekly. 10. Keep in direct contact with the owner and manager understanding this position implemented as a service directly to the owner and manager, all major site decisions and financial decisions must be approved by the owner prior to implementation. You are considered the direct liaison to clients / Designers / Vendors and Owner. Any violation of these terms I.E. (overstepping one’s bounds) will result in immediate termination with no given notice and absolutely no restitution and severance pay. 11. Intermediary for all requisitions between management and crews. 12. Individual truck/crew inventories. • Crew Members associated with each truck are to keep detailed inventory lists of both tools and materials (including, but not limited to, irrigation supplies) • Material/tool requisition forms are always to be made available to Crew Members. • Upon approval and re-stocking of materials, Landscape Superintendent is to make note of description and quantity of items and keep track of overall supplies for future re-orders and is to ensure that all supplies/materials utilized each day are accounted for billing and re-stocking 13. Ensuring that employees understand and follow company codes and policies • Landscape Construction Foreman is to review, often and/or as needed, company codes and policies with employees and ensure that the codes and policies are complied with. • Upon infraction, Landscape Construction Foreman shall fill out and have the crew member sign a Personnel Action Form. • Landscape Manager shall perform weekly safety meetings 14. Direct contact with Crew Members • Direct communication with Crew Members shall occur each morning prior to initiating scheduled work to discuss details of impending work • Daily assignment explanation and work order distribution • Landscape Construction Foreman is to remain available throughout the day to receive calls from Crew Leaders • Landscape Construction Foreman will be the liaison between crews and upper management • Give technical support and assistance to employees as well as to oversee work in progress 15. Creating detailed Foreman’s Copy • Detailed Foreman’s Copy, are to be created to ensure accurate follow-through by crews • Detailed notes are to be made on Foreman’s Copy to avoid any miscommunications, confusion or mistakes • Foreman’s Copy, along with any other pertinent information, are to be given to Crew Leaders each morning • Landscape Construction Foreman are to review foreman’s copy with crew leaders to stay informed as to exactly what was completed, what was not completed (for scheduling/future visits) and if there are any current concerns at the property in question 16. Employee morale • Landscape Construction Foreman must be aware of the morale of each individual and make any and/or all necessary modifications in the work/work environment to ensure that morale is high • Landscape Construction Foreman shall ensure that there is no bickering or competition between crews or individuals • Motivate employees toward realistic goal setting and achievement of those goals. 17. Communication with clients • Check and reply to calls and emails regarding construction questions and concerns from clients • Reply to all phone calls and emails within 2 hours of receipt. • During the 1st year, you will receive (2) paid sick days and paid holidays • After (1) full year, you will receive 1-week paid vacation.
