Current high school students can stop by DAE to build their coding and technical skills.
Current high school students* can join DAE on November 9 for a workshop with Carl Testa!
Composer and electronic musician Carl Testa is leading a series of workshops devoted to the practice of live coding where musicians and visual artists manipulate computer code to create audiovisual compositions and improvisations together. Participants will learn how to use free, open-source tools like Estuary, TidalCycles, and Hydra to create their own music and visuals collaboratively. Participants will leave with the knowledge of how to create their own expressive performances and how to continue their journey in learning more.
These workshops are supported in part by an Artists Respond grant administered through the Connecticut Office of the Arts and the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development, which also receives support from the federal ARPA.
*Open to current sophomores, juniors, and seniors, as well as students who just graduated
District Arts and Education (DAE) is on a mission to design and deliver programs and experiences that serve as a catalyst for transformation in the lives of individuals and communities that have been historically and systemically under-resourced.
This is accomplished through two focus areas that span skill levels from literacy to mastery.
