27th Annual Greater Houston Alphas Citywide Founders' Day Celebration hosted by Xi Kappa Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Welcome to the 27th Annual Greater Houston Alphas Citywide Founders' Day Celebration hosted by Xi Kappa Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Celebrating the 115th year of our beloved fraternity, the Houston Alphas and their sons/mentees will gather on December 4, 2021, at the Legacy Center at Fort Bend Church to commemorate and honor our Founders who paved the way for countless others. Their light continues to illuminate and we will pay homage to their legacy while also pushing toward the future. Our keynote speaker is the renowned Rev. Dr. Frederick D. Haynes, Senior Pastor of Friendship-West Baptist Church. Faced with multiple societal issues, political battles, and the plight of humanity, Bro. Dr. Haynes will charge and challenge the brothers on "Staying Woke" and continuing the fight to move this world into a place of compassion and unity. Promising to entertain, to provide a succulent breakfast, and build the bond of brotherhood, we invite all Brothers and their sons and mentees to join us. Alpha attire is required. XI KAPPA LAMBDA CHAPTER OF ALPHA PHI ALPHA FRATERNITY, INC. Since its chartering on April 26, 1983, Xi Kappa Lambda has worked to organize and implement innovative programs that positively impact and transform our diverse communities. It is with a great deal of enthusiasm and love that I continue my term as the 18th President of this progressive chapter. The Executive Board and I are charged and ready to take our chapter to the next level of developing leaders, promoting brotherhood and academic excellence; while providing service and advocacy for our communities. Xi Kappa Lambda Chapter continues to create collaborative partnerships and develop sustainable and effective programs. Current programs include Voter Registration/Education Initiatives, Community Health Fairs, and providing school supplies to neighborhood children. We will expand our programs this year to include more of the national initiatives such as the Brother’s Keeper program and “Go to High School, Go to College”. As we move in this fast paced global society, there is much work to be done, so we ask that you join us in transforming our community through supporting our fundraising events and partnering with us to implement stellar public service programs.
