Members remember to enter your CFA society associated email address in the promo code box to receive $25 off your ticket purchase. CFA Society Indianapolis is very excited to host local economics expert, Andreas Hauskrecht, Clinical Professor of Business Economics at Indiana University for an enlightening discussion on the implications of Digital Central Bank currencies as part of our Annual Dinner event where we will also honor recent new CFA charterholders. While most digital currency advocates are focused on the blockchain and *decentralized* finance, Andreas is researching how governments are responding with innovation through *centralized* digital currencies. Jerome Powell and the Fed will be releasing a paper in the near future on the "Digital Dollar", we are excited to give you Andreas' take on what this might look like! Andreas will be discussing Central Banks' stance on cryptocurrencies, his outlook on the adoption & timing of digital central bank currencies and how this may result in "Currency Wars". Andreas will talk for about 45 minutes and go through a prepared presentation slide deck. We will then open the floor up for questions from the audience. From there, we will move into the New Charterholders Ceremony portion of the annual dinner where we will honor individuals who have received their CFA charters over the last two years. We will have special guest past president of the society speak for the ceremony.
