First Responders will learn how to present the First H.E.L.P. Responder Readiness training. 8-Hour Train-the-Trainer Workshop This workshop prepares trainers and supervisors to deliver the First H.E.L.P. Responder Readiness Workshop for members of their agency. In this eight-hour* workshop co-facilitated by an experienced first responder and a first responder’s family member, participants will prepare engage members of their agency in meaningful conversations about the stressful and often traumatic life of a first responder. Participants should expect to leave the workshop prepared to deliver all three modules of the Responder Readiness Workshop: Performance, Persistence, and Prevention. PRE-REQUISITE: First Responder Readiness Training on Monday, Nov 15, 0900-1300 https://www.eventbrite.com/e/train-the-trainer-first-help-responder-readiness-tickets-203106626387 OR Tuesday, Nov 16, 1330-1730 Attendees will learn to present: PERFORMANCE • Describe stress and differentiate between two types • Recognize the effects of stress on performance PERSISTENCE • Initiate an #IWillListen / #IWillTalk conversation • Identify at least five resources for officers in your agency PREVENTION - A RANGE of Options • Explore resilience and healthy habits • Employ a RANGE of five resilience skills It is the mission of First H.E.L.P. to reduce mental health stigma through education, advocate for benefits for those suffering from post-traumatic stress, acknowledge the service and sacrifice and support the families of first responders we lost to suicide, assist first responders in their search for healing, lead policy makers and legislators toward necessary change, and to bring awareness to suicide and mental health issues within public safety.
