He toured the country as a bassist in a blues rock band, as a guitarist for an Irish Celtic Group, was in a pop-dub project called MadLife, and two more rock bands - but with all of these he quit because of lack of creative control. He has now embarked on a solo career. Based in Colorado, his songs range from pensive, serious ballads to explosive, euphoric pop songs. Almost never playing covers, he sings with raw, unfiltered emotion, and is someone who believes the music and the lyrics can do all the talking for him. A prolific recording artist and multi-instrumentalist, he records all his own music in a smoke-filled closet somewhere, and is now self-releasing music on all streaming services. Someone who truly marches to the beat of his own drum, J. Marshall is an excitingly original new part of the Colorado music scene. Established in 2016.
