Wes Anderson's epic tale of young love on the run
In anticipation of Wes Anderson’s new film opening at The Screening Room on November 5th, join us for one of his most loved features – an epic romance between two intrepid twelve-year-olds.
Sam (Jared Gilman) has had enough of the Camp Ivanhoe Scouts and goes AWOL on the coast of New England. He’s much more interested in a rendezvous on a small, deserted island with his love interest (Kara Hayward), the daughter of two local lawyers (Frances MxDormand & Bill Murray).
When he discovers Sam is missing, Camp Ivanhoe’s Scout Master (Ed Norton) enlists the help of a local sheriff (Bruce Willis) to look for the boy. Unbeknownst to his pursuers, Sam has come prepared. As he and his beloved Suzy evade capture, a cataclysmic storm threatens to pummel the island, and the search ramps up. “For pure-hearted adventurers who share the secret map, Moonrise Kingdom is a joy that cannot be eclipsed” – Joe Williams, St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
