For the price of a freewill offering, enjoy a delicious Honduran cuisine takeout meal prepared by a Honduran cook in our community!
Valley Neighbors is a Flathead Valley nonprofit devoted to living out community welcome for refugees, asylum seekers, and immigrants. Some of our projects have included collecting needed items for Soft Landings Missoula and Voices from the Border, providing funds for legal assistance for DACA recipients, writing to detained immigrants at the US-Mexico border, and sponsoring an asylum-seeking family from Central America.
As we look toward the holidays and the end of the year, Valley Neighbors hopes to finish our first year as a nonprofit with a final fundraising push. 2021 has seen a dramatic reversal of many refugee and asylum policies that affect hundreds of thousands seeking refuge within US borders. As conditions continue to change, Valley Neighbors hopes to be in a strong position to support existing community members and future arrivals.
On November 20 (4-7 p.m.), please join us for a takeout meal cooked by a Honduran cook and community member. Donations will be accepted in the form of a freewill offering and will be used to support Valley Neighbors' projects in making our community a welcoming place for immigrants.
Menu:
Traditional Honduran Chicken and Rice
Bread
Sopa de Capirotadas (a soup made with cheese balls and broth)
Tres Leches cake
