Local club designed to connect the existing community and new residents in Lexington County, SC. The November luncheon will be Tuesday, November 16, 2021. We will begin socializing at 11a.m. and lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. Our guest speaker for the November luncheon will be author Tom Poland. Tom writes about the South, its people, traditions, lifestyles, and nature. He travels back roads seeking forgotten places, captivating people, and beautiful abandonment. His work appears in magazines and newspapers throughout the South. Many of his columns, essays and features appear in books such as South Carolina Country Roads; Classic Carolina Road Trips from Columbia, Georgialina, A Southland, As We Knew it, Reflections of South Carolina, Vol. II, The Last Sunday Drive, and Carolina Bays-Wild Mysterious, and Majestic Landforms. The luncheons are informal meetings where you can enjoy lunch and meet other fellow newcomers and existing residents looking for a place to connect. You will learn about club offerings such as book club, coffee meet-ups, game nights and more. For individuals wishing to participate in the club, there will be a nominal annual membership fee. The purpose of the Newcomers and Community Club of Lexington, SC is to extend a welcoming hand to both newcomers and existing residents of the Lexington area and to promote good fellowship within the community through social as well as charitable activities. It is a wonderful opportunity to meet new friends, develop lasting friendships and give back to the community in which we live. This club is designed for adults age 18 and up. With experience in welcoming visitors to the area, the Lexington Chamber and Visitors Center is proud to host these luncheons on the third Tuesday of each month for this new club.
