TRUMBULL, CT — On Tuesday, Trumbull residents will head to the polls to cast ballots in the municipal election. The position of first selectman, town clerk, and spots on the boards of education and finance, Town Council and others, are all up for grabs. Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Nov. 2. Voters who are in line before 8 p.m. will be able to vote even after the deadline passes. You can find your poll location at the Secretary of the State website by inputting your information. You can request an absentee ballot here or you can visit your town clerk's office. All voters are eligible to check the top box that lists "COVID-19" as a reason for requesting an absentee ballot. In Trumbull, Democratic incumbent First Selectman Vicki Tesoro is running against Republican challenger Mark Block. For the position of Town Clerk, Democrat Mary Markham, the incumbent, is running against Republican Katie Miller-Creagh. As for Treasurer, incumbent Democrat Anthony Musto is running against Republican Paul S. Lavoie. On the Board of Finance, the candidates are (incumbents are in bold; vote for up to three): Democrats - Marty Issac; Lainie McHugh; and Joseph GaudianoRepublicans - Steve Dincher; Scott Zimov; and Justin Scheuble The Board of Education has two different seats up for election, four-year and two-year terms. For the four-year terms, the candidates are (vote for up to four, not more than two from a party): Democrats - Scot Kerr; Kathy Champion; Tim Gallo; and Lisa NulandRepublicans - Marie Petitti; Alison Souiccimarro; Jackie Norcel; and Chris Bandecchi As for the two-year terms, the candidates are (vote for up to four, not more than two from a party): Democrats - Lucinda Timpanelli; Julia McNamee; David Scrofani; and Christine El ErisRepublicans - Norcel; Petitti; Souiccimarro; and Bandecchi For the Board of Assessment Appeals, Republican Jeff Craw is running unopposed. The Trumbull Town Council recently returned to seven districts, up from four.
