BARNSTABLE, MA — The 2021 municipal election will be held Nov. 2 in Braintree. There will be contested races for city council and school committee. Town Council contested races are in districts 1, 2 and 3. Among those candidates are two former town councilors vying to get a seat again. Former Councilor Thomas Bowes will run in District 3 against Elizabeth Maglio, while former Councilor John Mullaney will run against Joseph Reynolds and Carol-ann Ricardo in District 2. In District 1, Councilor Julia Flaherty faces Jodi Killeffer. As for the school committee race, Cyril Chafe, Jennifer Dolan and George Kokoros all said they won't seek re-election. Seven candidates are on the ballot to fill the seats. They include: former school committee member Lisa Fiske-Heger, Kathleen Tuffy, Treacy Lewald, Stephanie Burrell, Linda Doucette, Matthew Lynch and Thomas Thackeray.
