Rehoming a lab mix

Description
We are looking for a new home for a 10-month old, rescued 70 lb. lab mix. He is an incredibly sweet and goofy dog and he is prone to putting on a real show at the dog park when he slides around on his lanky legs. He loves to proudly carry around sticks, chase ice cubes across the floor, play tug, and chew on toys and treats. He is extremely snuggly and would prefer to spend most evenings sitting on your lap staring into your eyes. He's food motivated and smart, so picking up new tricks is a cinch. He craves being around other dogs and spends most mornings off-leash at the dog park. He also loves going to his doggy daycare once a week. He loves his humans once he gets a chance to know them, but is anxious and very slow to warm up to new people. We have been working hard to build his confidence and make him comfortable with new people, and he has made steady improvement since he was a little rescue. He goes for plenty of walks in a busy neighborhood, and for the most part, does well. However, he can get scared and bark if he thinks someone is paying too much attention to him or he is surprised. He has been steadily improving but will need continued work on his reactivity. He does much, much better being in the world when he has a dog buddy to distract him and make him feel safe. In situations where he is stressed, he takes behavior cues more quickly from other dogs than from humans. He will be much happier in a quieter home and he needs to be placed in a home with another confident dog sibling who can continue to show him the ropes. Requirements for adoption: - He must be in a home with another dog. - Adopters must have a private, fenced yard. - He would probably do best in a home without small children. The ideal adopters will have some experience with reactive or anxious dogs, or at least the commitment to be patient and learn. He needs an owner who will continue his positive reinforcement training for his fear reactivity. He is neutered, up to date on his vaccines, microchipped, crate trained, and he knows a ton of useful commands. He is going to do great in a home with another dog friend to keep him company. There will be a $100 rehoming fee.
