B&M Homemaking and Companion Services located on 38 Church Street West Haven has Immediate openings for Homemaker/Companion in New Haven, West Haven, Milford, Hamden. Weekends, Morning/Afternoon and Evening schedules available. Call the office at 203-932-9966 to speak to a Manager or a Coordinator for additional information. Stop by and pick up an applications anytime between 9:00am and 5:00pm. Schedule based on client availability and requirements. Clients will require transportation to doctor appointments along with shopping and errands. B&M is always seeking quality, caring individuals – skilled and experienced in home caregiving. B & M is a non-medical agency that provides in-home care services. We provide services to our American/Latin residence located in the New Haven County area - Ansonia, Branford, Derby, East Haven, Hamden, Meriden, Milford, New Haven, North Haven and West Haven. Our Staff provide the following; Aid in Maintaining Independence – reduces guilt from having to depend upon family.Offer Peace of Mind – Families can maintain their active lives knowing that their family member is being properly cared for.Aid in Preventing Medical Crisis – A care giver can reduce the risk of falls and monitor significant changes in health or behaviors.Promote Physical Well Being – One on one care can provide more supervision and help clients avoid medical complications often associated with institutional living.Improve Quality of Life – Clients can keep their pets, schedule activities and maintain family relations in their own home.Provide Nutritious Meals – Care givers can prepare appetizing and healthy meals.Support Healthier Living – Our care givers provide an extra pair of hands to help keep the environment clean and safe. Duties include but are not limited to; Companions Conversation and social activitiesLight meal preparation and clean upSelf-Administered Medication RemindersTransportation to appointment or errands Homemaker Light Housekeeping - changing beds, dusting, dishes, cleaning kitchens and bathrooms, vacuuming, wet mopping floorsLaundryMeal Preparation - Meal planning including implementation of special dietsGrocery Shopping and ErrandsSelf-Administered Medication Reminders Job Requirements: Ability to treat and care for seniors and their property with dignity and respectDesire and ability to communicate with clients and familiesProfessional and CompassionateSpeaks English, Spanish or bi-lingualDriver’s License or State ID and Social Security required for application processingValid driver’s license and auto insurance required for transporting clients (not all clients require transportation)Adhere to Agency Policies and SchedulesProper usage of time management system Electronic Visit VerificationMeets state requirements for background and reference checksFollow Safety Protocols per Workers’ CompensationComplete In-Service Training offered twice a yearOnline Training Courses to include Organizational, Leadership, Communication skills along with safety training such as Preventing Slips, Trips and Falls and Defensive DrivingWork schedules are based on client needs and service type which vary as noted below;Client assignments are usually within a five-mile radius of Staff’s residenceTravel time is available if it meets the defined criteria.
