Maeve Jackson was recently sworn in as a midshipman at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in New York and as a member of the Naval Reserves. She was nominated by federal officials to attend the service academy. As part of her education, Jackson will spend one year as a cadet aboard an ocean vessel.
