MONROVIA, CA — Students at Wild Rose School of Creative Arts in Monrovia will be getting new musical instruments soon, thanks to a $5,000 donation from a local business.
A local Burlington clothing store made its donation through a partnership with the nonprofit, AdoptAClassroom.org, Monrovia Unified School District officials announced Friday. The money will be used to buy sound makers and other musical instruments for the school's classrooms.
Wild Rose Principal Paige Ramos said in a statement that school officials were delighted to receive the $5,000 from Burlington and AdoptAClassRoom.org.
"A donation like this gives us the opportunity to purchase additional supplies that we were not anticipating having this school year," she said. "As the recipient of this grant, we have the opportunity to explore creative ideas to use the funding and as a result, our entire school will truly benefit."
