JOLIET, IL — A 28-year-old Joliet woman was arrested early Saturday morning at the Joliet Housing Authority's Stevenson building, 102 Stryker Ave., after police say she hit a man in the face with a stick. Four hours later, the woman attacked Joliet police, kicking and headbutting one of the officers, according to police spokesman Dwayne English.
On Monday, Danesha Farries remained in the Will County Jail, facing a $10,000 bail. She is charged with one count of aggravated battery, two counts of aggravated battery to a police officer and one count of obstructing justice.
Joliet police arrived at the disturbance call around 1:10 a.m.
"Further investigation revealed that after Farries had knocked on the victim's door, the victim opened the apartment door at which time Farries entered and began striking him with the stick," police reports show.
Farries left the apartment complex before Joliet police got to the building. About four hours later, Joliet police learned that Farries was back in the parking lot, at 5:20 a.m.
"While officers were securing Ferries in the rear of a squad car, she kicked, and headbutted an officer," Joliet police announced. "Farries was transported to the Joliet Police Department, where she refused to comply with booking procedures. She was then transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility."
Farries resides in the 2200 block of McDonough Street, jail logs show.
