NORTHPORT, AL — The Northport City Council on Monday unanimously approved a generous 5.4% cost of living raise for all full- and part-time employees as it hopes to both promote employee retention and combat the recent effects of inflation. "This will help keep good employees here at the City of Northport." She would go on to say, though, that the cost of living adjustment, or COLA, as it is more commonly referred, would not be a "end-all-be-all" for the way the city pays its employees. Webb then pointed to a pay play study commissioned by the Council that is currently underway. "We believe there will be other necessary adjustments in the future, but I just want to thank you for the support," she said. Have a news tip or suggestion on how I can improve Tuscaloosa Patch?
