The University of Pittsburgh is conducting a research study called the Early Experience and Mind Body Connections (EMBODY) Study. We are examining how difficult experiences in childhood impact vulnerability to mental health symptoms in adulthood through changes in brain circuits and body functions involved in stress responses. The results of this study could contribute to more effective mental health treatments. We are looking for people with a range of negative childhood and mental health experiences who: -Are 20-35 years old -Are right-handed -Have no metal in the body, including significant, non-removable dental work (fillings are okay) -Are not currently taking medication for psychiatric disorders The study can be completed in two visits, all located in Oakland: -Visit 1: includes completing paper and online questionnaires, followed by an in-person interview. -Visit 2: includes one 90 minute MRI scan. Participants will be compensated $135 for completion of the study. Parking is provided at no cost for all visits.
